Got Hitched in Vegas!!

I WILL ALWAYS BE YOUR HUNK O' BURNIN' LOVE......
I PROMISE TO NEVER STEP ON YOUR BLUE SUEDE SHOES.....

Well Kids, we did it!!!! VEGAS-STYLE!!!
My Ol'Man is officially my Ol'Man, and I'm his Lil'Lady!!!

Although conventional ways are awesome for some people, we decided getting hitched in Fabulous Las Vegas was still too conventional for us ..... so we went a few steps further to the Fabulous Downtown Las Vegas (aka. old vegas). Odd to me that not many people really know about Old Vegas..... Us simple Canadians absolutely appreciated downtown's diversity (average yahooos mingling with the local yahooos), unlike the glam & shine of 'the strip' which felt like we stepped onto WaltDisneyWorld's MainStreet USA. (which is perfect because the Las Vegas strip HAS been referred to as 'DisneyWorld for Adults'...... good well done-mission accomplished!)

Don't misinterpret what I'm saying, I'm not down playing 'the strip'. It was quite a site to see. We reminisced about the hotels/casinos/steppled chapels we've seen on TV/movies, and hotels about to be put to rest (the Stardust /48 years), that's kinda sad actually ......one full day was all we needed to get our 'fix' out of the way....(dowtown aka.Freemont st. to the end of the strip aka.Mandalay Bay = ~9miles/14 km~ we walked it ALL, with 1 pit stop at Denny's...... ......mmmmm ..... mini cheeseburgers!!)

In our opinion, The Strip is mainly aimed towards the crazy weekend getaway; and downtown is more of a mellow gamblers & drunkards haven (with the Freemont Experience to keep it blingy).

So for those of you looking to GET HITCHED in Fabulous Las Vegas.....don't dismiss the charm, diversity & accessibility of Fabulous Downtown LV. We're grateful for Old Vegas and the privilege of the experience!! WE THANK YOU!!

I had heard about your plan to get hitched in Las Vegas and I am so glad it totally rocked for you guys :) I'm a little more conventional in my choices, but as long as people do it their way, it's all good. It's you big day after all and you should go about it however you see fitting. My question to you is this: did Elvis give you away and was he wearing the white or black outfit?

It's all good...lol. Although that line is a bit more disturbing to me since I was there last May with my younger brother (who looks nothing like me). I'm sure you had many vendors asking the 2 of you if you were married, so you'll know what I am talking about. Well, my brother and I were often approached by people asking if we were married and we would look at each other disgusted and say, "No, we're brother and sister" and they would automatically back off. Unfortunately we crossed paths with one freak who, after hearing us state that we were siblings, said, "Hey! What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas". I thought my brother was gonna kill him! I was in shock and we walked away completely stunned. I guess it takes all kinds...

I agree...some people REALLY didn't know when to back off!! Luckily for us, we walked away pretty fast...and for those who still wouldn't give up....well, I can get pretty bitchy when its necessary. Necessary Roughness!
